15th Annual Botanical Art Exhibit – Filoli

Yesterday was the first day of the 15th Annual Botanical Art Exhibit at Filoli. Though I am going to be on site for the next several days for my Color Mixing class, I wanted to visit just to see the exhibit and take a leisurely stroll through the garden. As usual, the exhibit is a source of inspiration and awe. Some truly remarkable works are on display there, and I so very much cherish the opportunity to see them up close and personal. I’m afraid more than one docent must have given me a funny look as I stood practically nose-to-glass with these lovely paintings!

I’ve unearthed my work table and started work on some simple watercolor sketches.

Busy Summer

As the school year wrapped up and summer unfolded, my drawing table became piled under and I have not spent any time there in a couple of months. I have been sketching and drawing on my iPad, doodling and taking photographs as ever, of course.

Classwork for Graphite 1 with Martha Kemp – this piece was a bit of a pain and I am still not really satisfied, but I learned a great deal from it.
